Dr. Park was awarded a University of Utah Research Instrumentation Fund (RIF) for a project entitled “Development of Broadband Near-Field Scanning Infrared Spectroscopy (NSIRS),” $160,000. In this project, his group will combine the high-vacuum atomic force microscope with the FTIR and a tunable IR laser system to enable the nanoscale IR spectroscopic imaging.
